Domain: Community Support and Health Service

Medical Equipment Loan Program (MELP): Working in partnership with Rotary Clubs of San Carlos and Belmont/Redwood Shores and the Villages of San Mateo County on a local program modeled after the successful durable medical equipment (DME) loan program in Southern California (ongoing since 1923).

The project will include bi-annual drop-off events, and promotion of the program and volunteer needs through community communications and social media.

    Domain: Transportation

Implement measures that are older adult focused including: Education of youth to increase awareness about safety of elders and fall risks; assessment of crosswalk lights and possibly extend crossing times at certain locations that are frequently used by older adults; increase numbers of benches, sheltered transportation stops, and safe public restrooms. This age-friendly project is being integrated into the Safer Streets for All project of San Carlos.
