Daly City

Achieved AARP/World Health Organization (WHO) age-friendly community designation on July 1, 2020

The task force of community leaders that completed Daly City’s successful Age-Friendly application continues to meet quarterly with the full support and engagement of our City Council, City Manager’s Office, and Department of Recreation Services.  The task force monitors the activities of local government and non-governmental organizations across all Age-Friendly domains.

Efforts to recruit new task force members and develop an Age-Friendly Action Plan were hampered by COVID.  The task force members were grateful to secure an extension from AARP on the development of our Action Plan until early 2023. As the city and partner agency offices have fully re-opened and in-person meetings resumed we are thrilled to be able to safely engage our community again. Our task force members are focused on revitalizing our Task Force structure and membership and on developing roles and responsibilities of subcommittees and neighborhood volunteers as we complete and begin the implementation of our Action Plan.
